WVU has quickly become one of the nation's top collegiate esports programs. Since the program started in 2021, we've claimed championships in Call of Duty, Madden, Rocket League and Valorant.

WVU's Call of Duty team was a Fall 2022 NACE Starleague quarterfinalist. The Mountaineers compete in leagues and tournaments in Modern Warfare II.

Valorant

WVU Valorant won the 2022 Red Bull Campus Clutch Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship to get a chance to play at the national championships in Dallas.

Rocket League

WVU's Rocket League team became the first in program history to qualify for a world championship by earning a chance to play at the 2023 CRL World Championships.

Madden

WVU's first-ever esports athlete Noah Johnson won the 2021 LevelNext Madden National Championship and was the national runner-up in 2022.

Facilities

The WVU Esports team competes out of its new facility located inside of University Place. The facility is home to the four varsity programs, and includes space to produce live streams of games they’re competing in on the WVU Esports Twitch channel.
