The West Virginia Rocket League team qualified for the 2024 CCA Summer Series last week, sweeping all four opponents it faced.

WVU is the defending champion for the league, winning the 2023 Summer Series in dominant fashion with a perfect sweep through the playoffs en route to the Mountaineers' first Rocket League national championship in program history.

They started the qualifier with 2-0 wins over Radford and Robert Morris before beating Rochester and Kennesaw State, 3-0, to earn their spot in league play this summer. Other teams to qualify in the first East Open Qualifier include Kennesaw State, Northwood, Davenport, Ball State, Brewton-Parker, Illinois State and Stockton.

During the qualifying run, WVU outscored its opponents, 51-17, with Tool's 20 goals leading the way. Angel finished with 16 goals while Matter had 15 goals and led the Mountaineers with 16 assists and 16 saves.

More schools will get the chance to punch the final eight tickets into league play in the East in the final Open Qualifier on June 29. League play will kick off in July.
