Nicolas “Evil” Zimmowitch joined WVU Esports as a Rocket League coach in April 2023. In his first semester with the program, he helped guide West Virginia to the 2023 Collegiate Rocket League World Championships — the first team in program history to qualify for a world championship. The Mountaineers also were NACE Starleague finalists and had a quarterfinal finish at the 2023 Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup.

In addition to coaching WVU’s Rocket League team, Zimmowitch is also the coach of Zero2One in the Rocket League Championship Series. With Zero2One, he coaches current WVU Rocket League players Jarret “Angel” Birch and Ryan “Tool” Futral. Since the team formed in January 2023, they had two top-16 finishes in RLCS North American regionals.
